Considerations: 01/27/08 We've
switched over to www.MountainObserver.us

In
the opinion of the Mountain Observer, the fundamental moral question of
our
time binding us to God, and God to us, is, at what point does our
recognition and acceptance of the need for redemptive suffering collide
with
the issue of the enablement of evil? Or is there collision
at all,
properly inspired? The Mountain Observer does not pretend to have
the
answers to these fundamental questions that beg for answers.
Consideration of these weighty matters cannot be avoided as we confront
the challenge
of the collision of Western Secularism, Islam, and more specifically
IslamicFascism with Christendom. Accordingly,
the
Mountain Observer will be making some changes in our format, which will
include
retirement of this entire website as active, however still available
for review
as an attachment to a brand new website featuring an adjusted focus on
matters

There has
been little comment here about the Presidential race for 2008,
especially as it
relates to Democrats, as I have simply preferred to watch in quiet
amusement
the spectacle of marxist self destruction. However, the latest
poll
results from Iowa compel comment. The poll in question has Obama
at 30%
and Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, and alleged enabler of one
sexual
predator of women in particular, at 26%, a thunderclap for those
preparing for
her coronation. As eccentric as he and his candidacy is,
Conservatives owe a debt of gratitude to Obama, and Tim Russert, for
beginning
to force Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, and the smartest marxist of
the
bunch (I did not say she was smart) to reveal to the electorate the
hollow
shell that she is, and always has been. She is what Liberals are;
very
uncomfortable with truth in the singular concept familiar to
Conservatives as a
second nature. The problem with truth as a utility of the moment
is that
it is always impossible to keep the story-line all strung together, and
consequences that appear quite foolish result. You will remember
that
Senator John Francois Kerry, the French looking guy, pretender to the
office
des le roi des Etats Unis, who also served in Vietnam, observed once
that he
voted for funding the war before he voted against it. So it is
that
Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, more recently got publicly confused
about
whether issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens was the right
thing
to do or not. Eventually, the corrosion of such an inability to
think
straight seeps into the collective intelligence of the electorate,
elevating
curiosity and propelling questions. That this process should
begin to
unfold this far ahead of election day is a sign of a spark of health
among an
otherwise confused and generally uninformed electorate. A
politically
alert GOP (an oxymoron) should be able to pick up on these points as
they
accumulate, as they will, and slice and dice. I fear that we will
give at
least half the store away with the nomination Rudy Giuliani, author of
many
thoughts not Conservative. JES 11/17/07
As a
practicing Catholic in the Diocese of Colorado Springs I was naturally
attracted to see what came out of a recent gathering of the United
States
Conference of Catholic Bishops. On November 14 a document was
released
entitled "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, A
Call to
Political Responsibility from the Catholic Bishops of the United
States" ( http://www.usccb.org/bishops/FCStatement.pdf
). Clearly, great effort went into
this, however, I am left disappointed. Great emphasis goes into
addressing the issues of abortion and euthanasia, and from these points
of
initial focus a long list of other political and policy issues of
concern to
the Bishops is developed. While this document includes much
wisdom and
common sense, it seems to this observer that as this effort continues,
the Bishops
manage to dig themselves into several holes. While
as Catholics we
acknowledge our responsibility to be concerned for the poor and
oppressed, the
question remains open as to how to effectively, and meaningfully,
address these
problems. It is the impression of this observer that there is
slowly
emerging within the Church a competing perspective from the sort of
knee-jerk
statist tendencies of recent decades that defaulted toward the
recommendations
of Democrats. This document eschews open partisanship on the part
of the
Church (see page 23), and yet the tone and reach of detail and
recommendation
is very political in its thrust. My point to the Bishops is that
they
cannot have it both ways, nor should they. You cannot enter the
political
arena and then claim not to. For legal reasons the Bishops stress
that
they will not tell people how to vote, and yet in subtle ways, intended
or not,
they do. They are over-reaching here into a worldly level of
their own
incompetence. For example, the words "racism" and
"torture" are undefined, and in this age of deconstruction and
intellectual relativism, they need to be, and that's only for
starters. The Bishops consider themselves as
non-ideological,
failing to see the forest for the trees. This becomes all
too apparent
in "Part II". What
is missing is
self-examination. The Bishops need to convince the Laity, and the
broader
citizenship, that the seminaries and alleged Catholic institutions of
learning
have been purged of certain unacceptable behaviors and modern
ideologies
totally incompatible with the message of the real Church. This
has yet to
happen, leaving good seeds to wither on stone. Until the Bishops
can
refocus on these issues, a perhaps to some degree unfair sense of
hypocrisy
hovers. The
word "prudence"
appears frequently, as it needs to. However, the application of
"prudence" too frequently becomes an escape hatch, as a long line of
Catholic politicians elude confronting the right-to life issue with a
wave of
the hand from Bishops un-prepared to enforce Canonical instruction on
restriction from the Sacraments of wayward believers. This
document
itself details numerous loopholes available to the cynical. In
these short comments,
it is not my intention to distort the over-all context, or
mis-represent the
message or meaning of this document. I would encourage you to
read this,
in it's entirety, yourself, non-Catholics acknowledging to themselves a
lack of
preparation to correctly understand or accept much that is
contained. JES 11/16/07
The fog
of politics in Pakistan is beginning to lift for the Mountain
Observer.
It now appears that President Gen. Pervez Musharraf overplayed his
cards by
declaring "emergency rule". Back on 11/04 I pointed out that
"consistent polling suggests that a solid majority of Pakistanis are
not
inclined jihadists". While the military still holds the cards in
the
resolution of the current imbroglio, it is emerging more clearly with
each
passing day that former prime minister Benazir Bhutto is the most
popular
politician in the country, with her base among an emerging liberal (not
Liberal) democratic middle class. The emerging coalition now is
not
Bhutto and Musharraf, but rather Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif.
Now the
military needs to decide if it's own credibility, self respect and self
interest lies with Musharraf or Bhutto/Sharif. Enter the United
States,
necessarily a silent advisor in the background. At this point we
are
gently nudging along the Bhutto/Sharif combination, with an early
return to
democratic constitutional rule hinging on military acceptance and the
premise
of sufficient civilian political strength to stand up to the
Taliban. The
chances of all this coming together partially involve the need for a
rapprochement between Bhutto and the military. Benazir
Bhutto has
been around a long time. The problem is that some years ago she
was
kicked out of the prime minister position by the military on charges of
tolerating too much corruption. She will have to convince the
generals
that this is a new day, and the generals will have to recognize that if
they
are to salvage their own prestige with a new middle class, clamoring
for the
rule of law under a constitutional government, that it is in their own
self
interest to return, mostly, to the barracks. There is reason to
entertain
cautious optimism. JES 11/14/07
New York
State Governor Eliot Spitzer. In the current national political
climate
it's a good idea to keep track of this man, a cross section of
everything that
is wrong with the State of New York, in addition the Rudy Giuliani,
Michael
Bloomberg, Charles Schumer and Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, and
alleged
enabler of one sexual predator of women in particular. For the
hyper
hubrised Governor, go to: http://www.nypost.com/seven/11142007/news/regionalnews/out_of_gas_eliot_putting_the_brakes_on_l_9236.htm

President
Gen. Pervez Musharraf vs. opposition leader and former prime minister
Benazir
Bhutto of Pakistan. As Pakistani politics goes, the answer to who
comes
out on top will likely emerge from within the military, itself deeply
divided. Negotiations between the two of them, an outcome
preferred by Washington,
to join forces with each other have become unstuck. The
politicians, and
Generals, of nuclear armed Pakistan are walking on eggs. Then
there is
the old story about Humpty Dumpty. JES 11/12/07

In a
bizarre development this last week, evangelical leader Pat Robinson
climbed
onboard Rudy Giuliani's band wagon. Apparently, the
underlying
premise of this move was that Rudy stands the best chance of anyone in
the
current line-up of GOP hopefuls at defeating Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse
Ratchet,
and alleged enabler of one sexual predator of women in particular, in
the
general election. The
Mountain Observer
questions this reasoning, and believes the opposite may be true.
Rudy
has a mountain of social baggage to carry around, which, in a race with
Hillary
Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, would essentially be taken off the table by
both
sides. But is it not this very social baggage that has Pat
Robinson
exercised in the first place? How does Pat Robinson imagine that
issues
arising from all the social baggage can be forced into the open and
placed
before the voters in a Hillary- Rudy race? Conservative values
voters
might as well stay home. But Rudy is better than Hillary on
national
security issues. Yes, but no better than several other
leading GOP
contenders, the hype of some east coast elite conservatives
notwithstanding.
Is all the hype for Rudy against Hillary really about national security
concerns regarding IslamicFascism, or is there an east coast
bi-partisan
priority in evading the discussion on the social baggage issues, with
the
conservative component of such a bi-partisan defacto agenda merely
functioning
on a premise that omits the possibility of a Conservative values voters
revolt? The fact of the matter is that east coast elite
conservatives tend to be more Libertarian than Conservative, an
infection
especially found among neo-conservatives in the values arena.
Among such
folks there is a severe lack of understanding that Values Conservatives
really
take their concerns seriously, and that many are at the end of their
rope with
being taken for granted. You see, among such folks there is a
belief that
there is a higher priority than the worldly election squabble between
Hillary
and Rudy which can be seen as a distinction without a difference.
Can
Rudy win if they all stay away from the polls? The
Mountain Observer
believes that Rudy Giuliani is the weakest choice the GOP could make
for a
contest against Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, and alleged enabler
of one
sexual predator of women in particular. However, it goes
further. A
Giuliani candidacy against Hillary would foreclose any opportunity to
exploit
some of her greatest weaknesses, a concession that might well put her
into the
oval office. Pat Robinson, it is clear that you are not a
politician. In the GOP field, there are better choices to
be
made. JES Wall

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke tip
toes before Congress with some truth. The Mountain Observer can
be more
blunt, as I have always been prone to do. The truth is that over
many
years, through many policy decisions, both personal and public, we have
accumulated
mountains of debt, both private and public, that is simply
unsustainable.
As water inevitably runs down hill, the free market inevitably asserts
itself,
government and Federal Reserve gymnastics aside. The Federal
Reserve was
designed to mange monetary policy. In recent years especially, in
the
complete absence of Congressional fiscal restraint, the Fed has engaged
in all
sorts of hat tricks to also second guess this lack of fiscal
responsibility. What Bernanke is beginning to suggest to Congress
is that
the Fed can't do it all, and that the market consequences must run the
course. We simply can no longer hold our finger in the dike. We
need to focus on paying our bills Truth
is, we can look forward to continued deterioration in the value of the
dollar
accompanied by corresponding inflationary pressure. This may, or
may not,
make it easier to pay off old debts with cheaper dollars, depending on
your
specific circumstances, however any new debt will be subject to
increasing
upward pressure on interest rates. Get out of the new debt
cycle,
fast. Wall Street will suffer; the paper money game has its
limits.
As for Congress, when was the last time you refused a government
perk? We
have become addicted to stealing from each other, and rewarded our
representatives
accordingly. JES Serious
Considerations: 11/08/07
Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse
Ratchet, and alleged enabler of one sexual predator of women in
particular,
equivocates on both the issues of issuing drivers' licenses to illegal
aliens
as well as releasing records about communications between herself and
her
husband during the 1990's. All of this has to do with determining
her
fitness as a candidate for President in 2008. Meanwhile, Eliot
Spitzer,
past and present persecutor and now Governor of New York State, wallows
in his
own excrement. Tim Russert, your old Liberal associations will
get you
yet. JES 11/08/07
The British journal The Daily
Telegraph, on its website (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/exclusions/uselection/nosplit/listintro.xml)
recently published a list of "the top 100
most influential US conservatives. They put Rudy Giuliani at the
top of
the list. Numerous additional absurdities follow, all reflecting
the twin
difficulties of a foreign Liberal newspaper wandering about in the
dark.
As we all know, Rudy is no conservative, and the truth of the matter is
that in
terms of influence, Rush Limbaugh is the clear leader. JES 11/08/07
Note to AlGore and his toadies:
As a Conservative, I am a conservationist, not an environmentalist, a
distinction with an enormous difference. I am serious about using
and
husbanding God's creation as He has instructed us to do. You are
really
all about hijacking the planet to advance your own narrow Statist
political
agenda. AlGore, the polar bears will be around long after you are
gone. JES 11/04/07
President Pervez Musharraf, for
the 2nd time, declares military rule in Pakistan. We have been
watching a
very dicey political situation in Pakistan for some time now, with an
increasing threat of an IslamicFascist political takeover of a nuclear
armed
country. Consistent polling suggests that a solid majority of
Pakistanis
are not inclined jihadists, however, infiltration by jihadists into key
intelligence and national security positions, and the courts, have made
control
of the situation difficult for Musharraf. So he has made
his
move. Let us pray that he is correct. It remains to be
seen;
everything in Pakistan, and Waziristan, is at stake; a very touchy
situation. JES 11/04/07
It is with a sad and heavy heart
that I must confess that I have been wrong about Fred
Thompson. He
is not a Conservative. It has just come to my attention that he
has
jumped into bed with the ethanol lobby, which carries with it a list of
problems. 1).
Fred, you are either an economic ignoramus,
or are baldly guilty of politically pandering to the corn lobby, or
both.
Anyone who has spent any time and effort looking into this issue knows
that
this whole matter of pouring corn into our cars is an economic bust,
and
survives today only on the thread of enormous subsidies on the backs of
taxpayers. Any real solution to our energy shortage problems must
hang on
free market solutions, which largely means getting the government the
hell out
of the way. I notice that the "evil" oil companies, for
instance, are hedging their own investment bets with windmills, not
groundwater
sucking over subsidized corporate corn growers and processors.
The
economics of this whole matter is a long and tangled trail, and you
have jumped
into the middle of a mess obviously without any research which we have
a right
to expect of a serious presidential candidate, especially one who
promised to
come down hard on exactly this sort of nonsense. 2).
You have bought the so-called
"national security" line, again which is nonsense. The economic
framework of any energy "solution" that hangs on massive market
distorting subsidies is counterproductive to our national security
interests,
and you ought to know that. Released from politically motivated
and
arbitrary environmental constraint and regulation we have, under our
own
American jurisdiction, massive coal, oil and gas reserves, in addition
to our
ability to build safe and efficient nuclear generation. Nothing
stands in
the way of the development of any additional so-called alternative
energy
options except a distorted tax code on several levels. We need to
get off
this national habit, first acquired in 1932, of looking to the
government to
solve all our problems. I thought you knew better. I am
deeply
disappointed in you. JES 10/31/07
The presidential election
2008. Perhaps it is time to review where I think we are
at.
JES Democrat
Party: Hillary
Rodham, aka Nurse Ratchet, will be their
nominee. As totally unhinged as the party is, I cannot imagine
anyone
else in the party to be seriously considered. If the country has
to
endure considering a Marxist, she is the smartest. I didn't say
she was
smart. Republican
Party: Rudy
Giuliani. Unacceptable to the
Mountain Observer. I think there is an East Coast Elite Cabal, so
to
speak, that is pushing his candidacy very hard. engaging in a war
against the
real Republican base. He is pro abortion, pro militant gay, anti
gun, and
not what I would consider a good model family man. His
credentials on the
issue of fighting an international war against IslamicFascism have been
way
over hyped. He happened to be mayor of New York City on 09/11/01,
had,
and has a big New York mouth. He had a history as a very
aggressive
prosecutor who stumbled into doing some good things in that capacity in
addition to things that were questionable. I question whether he
can ever
reconcile himself with either the Catholic Church (his alleged choice
of
faith), the NRA, or the American heartland when they really get to know
him. A very bad idea. Actually, the right slot for Rudy is
to head
up the Homeland Security Agency, with close supervision. Fred
Thompson. I think this is the
right guy if we can get Jeri to wake him up and make him mad.
Seriously, Fred is the right guy, which is to say that of the whole
bunch he
has the best overall conservative credentials. Those of you who
find Fred lacking
in one regard or another show me another candidate who does not have
greater
problems overall. Don't think you can. Evangelicals, wake
up. Mitt
Romney. Anybody who can get
elected governor of Massachusetts and the turn around and sell himself
as a
conservative has got to be a phony. Too slick to sit down and
have a beer
with. John
McCain. Sorry John, but you are
not a reliable conservative player. You have always been on the
wrong
side of the border issue, and that's just for starters. You might
make a
good Secretary of Defense . Mike
Huckabee. Too quick to cut deals with
Democrats on taxes. He's from Arkansas. The
rest. Non players, except that I would
like to see Duncan Hunter as Fred's VP. Note
on Ron Paul: His is a Libertarian,
neither a Republican or a conservative. Doesn't belong in the
Republican
race. 10/30/07
Certain things are going right
(pun convenient) for Conservatives. The surge is working and good
things
are happening in Iraq. New French President Nicolas Sarkozy is
actually
making some progress, both at home and through Europe, in providing the
first
vestige of genuine leadership on the continent in decades, so relevant
to our
interests as the approaching confrontation with Iran unfolds.
Belgium is
in an advanced state of collapse, as it ought to be, a further sign of
the
ultimate idiocy of the super statist European Union. Likewise,
our own
Democrat led Congress, both the House and the Senate, are also in an
advanced
state of collapse in terms of accomplishing anything more damaging than
the
dedication of post offices. This Congress is still very dangerous
in
terms of the damage it seeks to do, and could do with the complicity of
too
many RINO Republicans, however, overall conservative GOP forces have
done
remarkably well since the 2006 election debacle in fending off the
Leftist
onslaught. The continuing defeats of Leftist and Libertarian
efforts to
award amnesty to illegal immigrants high on the list. It is a
huge help
to Conservatives that the American Left has become publicly unhinged in
ways
that has exposed the Left as it always truly was. It is likely
that the
2008 elections will come down to the question of balance between the
appeal of
what remains of traditional American instincts and conservative values,
and, on
the other hand, the now decades old siren song of government freebies
and
nannyism. How powerful is the appeal of Hillary Rodham, aka Nurse
Ratchet? Is it reading too much into the discussion to consider
the
implications of victory of now governor-elect Bobby Jindal in
Louisiana, Indian
American, as Conservative as you can find? Does American sanity
still
have a chance? JES 10/19/07
Rush Limbaugh, Harry Reid, and
the 2 million dollar letter. On this one, Rush is right.
Reid's
letter, also signed by 40 other Democrat Senators, was an arrogant
abuse of
power in an attempt to browbeat a private citizen regarding his 1st
Amendment
rights; indeed his very livelihood. Only a foretaste of what we
could
generally expect if the Dems prevail in 2008. Rush's auction of
the Reid
letter on eBay was brilliantly executed on several levels. No doubt the
Marine
Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation will put the proceeds to good
use.
Meanwhile, may the 41 signatories of this letter all hang their heads
in shame,
suck alum, and look forward to the attention of their constituents in
the next
election. Good job, Rush. JES 10/13/07
It sounds as if Retired Lt. Gen.
Ricardo Sanchez, failed ex-commander of military forces in Iraq, might
be a bit
embarrassed by the successes of current U.S. commander in Iraq Gen.
David
Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker. He points the

at everyone but himself, an all-too-common malady in this day and
age.

"Phony soldiers" and
Rush Limbaugh. The dustup has nothing to do with Rush
Limbaugh. It has to do with the intentions of Democrat pretenders
to
power with regard to the 1st Amendment. Look what moral
relativism,
political correctness and the whole concept of "hate speech hath
wrought?
I repeat here, exactly, what I wrote in the launch off document to what
became
this website 11/20/2000: The
Statist mindset has,
for about 35 years now, promoted the concept of "hate crimes".
The problem with the idea of "hate crimes" is that a prosecutorial
investigation of one's thoughts is required. I would suggest that
this is
dangerous stuff. Does one "hate" women because of a
belief that life begins at conception? Does one "hate" gays
because of a belief that the practice is dysfunctional? Does a
white
person "hate" a black person because of a belief that the excuse of
slavery has gotten in the way of resolution? Is "hate",
whatever that means, by and of itself, a crime? Is a murder
victim less
dead because he was not killed by a "hateful" person? All
of this is madness. Or are we really trying to describe
thoughts
and perspectives that are simply out of tune with the fashions of the
Liberal
Statist Elite? Notice that the same folks who condemn
"hateful" speech are the same folks who defend the Hollywood porno
mills under the guise of the First Amendment. The
legal regulation of
thought is the most distinctive feature of a Statist regime.
About 30
years ago we saw a major breach of the Constitution with the initial
passage of
property seizure laws, all directed, we were assured, against
"organized
crime". We now see where that has gone. RICO is
everywhere. Now the fashion de Jour is "hate crime"
legislation. Notice that it is the same judicial system that tolerates
this
stuff that created the right, out of thin air, of women to murder their
offspring, and to furthermore do so without the consent of the father.
The
legal system has become politicized and a function of the Statist
agenda. I submit that "hate" crimes are political crimes
masquerading as criminal law. In
America we have a
First Amendment to our Constitution under which, presumably, a
citizen's right
to think and speak is protected. If one acts on certain thoughts
in some
way that is a violation of the traditional criminal code then the
action should
be the issue, not the thought alleged to be behind it.
To start
prosecuting thoughts is to disassemble America and guarantee a
breakdown of the
system. The prosecution of thought is the end of dialog and the
promotion
of the Gulag, with "appropriate psychological re-education".
When will the camps appear? John Rocker, watch out! Sadly, this
process,
known as "political correctness", is already well
underway. Much of the Press, the Fifth branch of government
(after
the regulatory empire), has become complicit, and our system of
education at
all levels debased, thanks to 110 years of John Dewey. All of
this is
being accomplished in an atmosphere of hostility toward a humble
consideration
of a Divine Creator and a Superior Intelligence and Authority, i.e.
God.
This is not a coincidence or irrelevant. No doubt my thoughts
here are
evidence that could be used against me; I am no doubt under suspicion
of being
me. This is the real reason for the Second Amendment and
the real
reason why Statists are working so hard against it. Check
out the entirety
of what I wrote. The context was the fight over the Florida
votes, at the
time, unresolved. Go to 11/20/00

Alleged GOP "conservatives" cave in and vote with the Democrats on a
5 year $35 billion increase in spending for SCHIP (State Children's
Health
Insurance Program), which shouldn't even exist in the first place (Read

Mr.
President, the options regarding Iran: 1)
You can wait
for reformers to overthrow the current regime. The
information
available to me indicates that this cannot happen before nuclear
weapons
capability has been achieved for a lengthy list of reasons. The
real problem with
this idea is that even if the reformers were successful, their
opposition
(defenders of the current regime) would still be powerful, with
attendant
political instability going forward. What guarantee is
there that
such a political stew, however configured, would actually choose to
accommodate
us with a credible change of direction on Iran's nuclear program and
ambitions? At the very least, we would be confronted with a new,
and
additional, Pakistani dilemma. 2).
You can
continue to wait for others, through various proposed schemes of
economic
coercion to "force" a change in Iranian attitude on the issue, which
completely underestimates and misunderstands the Iranian attitude on
the
issue. Continuing to wait for a miracle to happen is wasting time
while
allowing the situation to continue to deteriorate. There is the
further
unsatisfactory consequence of allowing others to operate our own
foreign policy
and oversee our own national security interests. I would remind
you that
similar dithering in late 2002 and early 2003 bought the time Saddam
Hussein
and his Russian pals needed to apparently squirrel away probable WMD
and to
prepare for the insurgency that began to unfold in April of 2003.
You
should have learned by now that you just can't play around with these
people,
or Democrats, a distinction too frequently without a
difference. 3).
The hard fact
of the matter is that the military option is the only responsible
option
available to the United States, in behalf of not only our own security
interests, but that of the rest of the world as well. I know that
the
planning and preparedness are largely in place. And I speak
not of
something tentative, but the full bore plan to knock out their entire
military
capability. You know of which I speak. Do it.
Soon. And worry not about your critics; they are beyond
being
mollified, and you have already spent too much time and effort in that
regard. Do this thing now, let the world squeal, and leave office
in
January of 2009 knowing that you, in fact, did the right thing.
In the
years ahead, you will come to be honored. JES 10/01/07
Pope
Benedict XVI has directed the reintroduction of the traditional rite.
God bless
Pope Benedict XVI. I would predict that eventually it will be
recognized
that this development saved the Church of Rome, and perhaps the whole
of
western culture. I have no doubt that the hand of the Holy
Spirit
was on the tiller. These
changes reorder
the Church as the primordial framework of western civilization,
including a
more correct perspective on the critical contributions of the Greek
philosophers coupled with Roman law. It re-elevates a
complex
history beyond the scope of what we are about here. Just in
summary, what
we now have is the necessary foundation for the re-balancing of
contemporary
western culture, including education. For a much more
detailed, and
informed, study of the return of the Tridentine Mass, I would recommend
going
to the Vol. 16, No. 4 Fall 2007 issue of The Latin Mass.
