Serious Considerations:

09/29/09  Baraka Hussein Obama and the "American" Left are savaging our nation, domestically and internationally.  The split is total, and irreconcilable.  Either real Americans can recover their footing on this slippery road to hell, or the country is lost.  I, the Mountain Observer, am a real American, and, if necessary, I am prepared to die for this country, and the God who blessed its Founders.  Each of us needs to recognize the seriousness of this situation and make some personal decisions.

I will predict to you that war is just around the corner; real war, possibly worldwide.  The Iranian nuclear program and their true intentions are beyond denial.  Israel is the canary in the coal mine; however the mullahs have a far larger agenda.  International hatred of America is real, very real, and the common thread and object of this hatred is American Freedom.  To many, it is seen as a threat; the notion of national sovereignty seated in a nation’s individual citizens never really understood or comprehended anywhere else, or in more recent years, among Democrats.  So the mullahs, sharing a convenient purpose with Russia, China and assorted Latin American hooligans, prepare to lash out, and we, together with Israel, are in great danger. Whether Baraka Hussein Obama understands this, or is actually part of the problem, is academic at this point.  He is deeply into himself, which is to say he is not an American.

Israel, standing alone in this unfolding maelstrom, without the support and help of the current American government, is existentially left with no choice but to strike out.   Sentient Jews and real Americans understand a bond thousands of years old commanded by a higher Authority.  Pray that they succeed.   Meanwhile the combination of Al Qaeda, Iran, China, Russia and North Korea conspire to undo us.  The most cost effective way to do this, it occurs to this observer, using the excuse of an Israeli strike on Iran, might be a EMP attack against us.  We are not prepared to defend ourselves from this sort of thing while our enemies are rapidly approaching such an ability.  Much more effective against us than a simple nuclear device, “clean” or “dirty” in Central Park; however, nothing can be ruled out.

We should have dealt with Iran, and North Korea, some time ago.  Sadly, we have melted into a nation of intellectual and moral soft heads, and this observer believes we are about to pay the price.  JES

09/16/09  An update on the constitutionality issue in the Courts.  On September 8^th, Federal judge David Carter, who sits on the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, issued a ruling that tentatively set a court trial date of January 26, 2010 on the issue of Obama’s eligibility for the office of the Presidency.  The lawsuit in question has been brought by a string of plaintiffs, represented by attorney Orly Taitz.

 

Not surprisingly, the Government is attempting to get the case thrown out, which will be considered by the court at a hearing prior to the trial.  Roughly, the government’s position is that rulings by the Electoral College trump Congressional oversight and review. Plaintiffs respond “not so”. So on this point, the discussion is over legality issues, not over the objective reality of what actually happened.

 

Also open is a motion by Taitz to be granted discovery so as to demand release of certain presidential records relevant to the issue of Obama’s constitutional eligibility.   Other procedural issues remain to be resolved.  Notwithstanding the procedural and jurisdictional questions, the matters of substance remain open before the Court at this time.  JES

09/12/09  Rep. Joe Wilson R-SC has been severely criticized for calling Obama a liar during Obama’s speech to Congress last Wednesday night regarding coverage of illegals in the ObamaCare drafts in Congress.  However, it now turns out that, since Wednesday, the “negotiators” on the Senate Finance Committee have been scrambling around trying to patch the dike to exclude illegal aliens from the massive ObamaCare plan.  So it turns out that Rep. Wilson was exactly correct in calling Obama on the point. (It’s not a “bill” yet; rather chunks of mischief still floating around in the either.)  Now some may think that Rep. Wilson’s interruption of Obama was impolite, however to do so is to engage in the typical double standard. (I’ll skip the details; if you can’t follow my point here- go accept some responsibility for your own education.)  There are those of us who think Americans (legal) are engaged in the functional equivalent of a civil war; finding  “niceness” here is silly, war is hell- get used to it. 

And yes, the institutions of Congress deserve little respect anymore; they have become the intellectual and moral dumping grounds of the nation in recent years, even worse than Massachusetts.

Thank you Rep. Wilson for simply telling the truth, as Sarah Palin did in calling attention to Death Panels; your candidness is refreshing, and we need much more of it.  JES

08/29/09  The Federal Reserve System was set up by Congress in 1913 to safeguard the integrity of the currency of the United States.  Almost from the beginning, it has had a dismal record in doing so, subject to political pressures primarily from Congress, sometimes directly and sometimes through the banking system.  The best measure of this failure is to be measured by the inflation that has occurred since, and in more recent years by the Feds politicized attempts to correct Congresses’ fiscal irresponsibilities, decades running, with various monetary tools band-aid style. From this observer’s perspective, the matter has been out of control for at least 30 years, and arguably much longer.

All of this is a major component of the general collapse we have witnessed over the past year.  Sunshine needs to be laid out on this system, big time.  And of course, this really won’t honestly happen because too many folks, living and dead, Democrat and Republican, rich and poor, had and still have their fingers in the honey pot.  So the next best thing might be passage of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s (R-TX) H.R. 1207 calling for a complete audit (which will never honestly happen) of the Fed.  Congress, really the chief purp, as in politically designed pressure on the banks to approve mortgages with a social purpose that could never have been paid off; Congress will exempt itself from all blame.  What needs to be remembered is that the Federal Reserve System was, and remains, a creature of Congress.

Now it has just happened that Judge Loretta A. Preska of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York , in response to a FOIA request by Bloomberg LP, has issued an order to the Fed to open up its books regarding approximately $2 trillion in "stimulus loans" to whomever. The Fed doesn’t want to do this, regarding such information as a “trade secret”.

Sorry guys, that doesn’t work with this old goat roper.  There are various estimates that I personally am, along with every other American living and yet to be born, responsible for the repayment of a very big bunch of money that I don’t have, thanks to decade’s worth of both monetary and fiscal political football by the Fed and Congress.  I want to know where that “stimulus money” went and why.  I have no doubt that there are people above my pay grade who need to go to jail. The Tea Parties will continue.  JES

08/20/09  Sarah Palin, by calling America’s attention to ObamaCare’s Death Panels, was directly on target, and her supporters, and enemies, know it.  If ObamaCare is defeated, Sarah Palin can take credit for almost singlehandedly causing the result.  Sarah talks straight to the heartland in a way that Real Americans understand and respect, which is why she is so hated and vilified by the ruling elites.  Yes, the truth is that the central purpose of ObamaCare is to solve the Social Security/ Medicare/ Medicaid financial disaster that is looming simply by disconnecting the elderly.  Read the draft legislation; it is all there.  Conservatives have better ideas. Real Americans will choose freedom over statism every time.  Meanwhile, thank you Sarah.  There is not a potential GOP candidate for 2012 that comes close.  JES

08/11/09  There appears to be confusion these days on who is actually Secretary of State.  On a day to day basis it could be Hillary, or OJ Billyboy, or Richard Holbrook, or even Baraka Hussein Obama himself.  Other plausible candidates pop onstage from time-to-time, including Madeline Albright, Hugo Chavez, Vladimir Putin, any number of Chinese personalities, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ,or an occasional US Army General.  All of this reflects the fact that American foreign policy is, today, in utter disarray.  It would seem to this observer that the most qualified candidate would be Benjamin Netanyahu, head and shoulders above the rest.  However, absent genuine leadership from anyone else on the international scene, Netanyahu has other responsibilities and challenges.  The American military is exposed around the world, particularly in Afghanistan and Pakistan, to the consequences of this farce.  Pray for them.  JES

08/08/09  Obama, teamed with the Democrats; their first six months on the job.  Bear in mind that they have total majorities; no Republicans are necessary to carry out their agenda.  Calls for “bi-partisanship” are window dressings for future excuse making, and predictably, a handful of Republican sell-outs can generally be found to further soil the Republic.   I have been known to refer to such folks as "donkeys in elephant suits", an unfortunately necessary slur on donkeys (my apologies to donkeys everywhere); real donkeys being generally brighter than the 2 legged variety anyway.

So where are we at, not in any particular order:

1). The federal government, together with the UAW, is now the largest shareholder in GM, and Chrysler; to hell with the bond holders, and now run by Obama appointees with zero experience in the car business.

2). Executives are now appointed by the government, with their paychecks under government control (“Do what we order you to do, and build not what will sell”). 

3). The federal government has seized key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system.   AIG comes to mind, among others.

4). The federal government has extended controls over both the mortgage and the banking industries.  Never mind that it was largely government interference and social politicalization that tripped off the whole mess in the first place. Reference Barney Frank & Chris Dodd in particular.

5). New regulatory initiatives have been proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public. Big brother, again, to look out for the stupid; the moral hazard further extended.

6). The federal deficit is $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 Trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats.
Congress passes Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010 resulting in a projected deficit over the next ten years at greater than $10 trillion.

7). In addition, Obama, Pelosi and Reid insist on pushing through health care and related insurance industry legislation without a wit of concern about established Congressional processes or the concerns of American citizens.

8). The Left wants to dismantle talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." They want to dismantle the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via Internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads.
Most major network television and most newspapers have abandoned their 4^th estate responsibilities and attached themselves to the DNC.

9). The Left has declared open warfare on your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms, to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that requires the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired, and to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.

10). Obama has appointed 41 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, and other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.

11). They propose initiatives to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US  citizen.

12). Obama and his ilk plan to further sweep aside states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government broad new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people.

13). The Administration and Congress, and certain courts in particular, have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to  restrict.

14). Further enabled ACORN and the New Black Panthers to run amok about the land.

15). Cause our returning US veterans to be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.

16). Required the Justice Department to order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan.

17). Ordered the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 400-plus individuals held there other than to distribute them among the several US states, and other “friends”, who do not want them.

18). Embrace American enemies worldwide while apologizing for America past and present as Obama ignores the mountains of good we have done over the decades and centuries.

19). Bow before the Saudi King.

20). Embrace Venezuela's Hugo Chavez and sip from the cup of Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega.

21). Stab Israel in the back at every opportunity.

22). Leave the Poles, the Czechs and other Eastern Europeans twisting in the wind as he embraces Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

23). Sabotages the American military with dangerous spending cuts and an incoherent foreign policy worldwide for which we will eventually have to pick up the pieces with costs in treasure and blood, foreign and perhaps domestic.

24).  Supports and encourages the hatred of those who defend traditional marriage as between a man and a women in defense of the sanctity of the American family.   We see this with the withering attacks on Sarah Palin and Carrie Prejean, and the Leftist promotion of abortion and post birth infanticide.

08/07/09  ObamaCare and congressional town hall meetings.  Back on 07/22/09 I predicted to you that the Regime was attempting to push this legislation through before the beginning of the August recess for reasons that now should be apparent to everyone, including the walking dead in the GOP.  The electorate is, indeed, showing signs of waking up.  Proof of the intellectual failure of the ObamaCare initiatives, variously presented with widely conflicting accounts, is conceded by the White House and the Congressional Democrat "leadership" by virtue of the encouragement and deployment of union thugs and possibly the New Black Panthers to terrorize and intimidate.  Not historically a proven way to win over the American voter.

Today Obama’s response to voter pushback at the town hall meetings is “([I] Don’t Want the Folks Who Created the Mess to Do a Lot of Talking”.   Which, of course, correlates with his creation of the new “snitch” reporting system.  Chicago on parade; First and Fourth Amendments lost.  Time for real Americans to stand up.  JES

08/07/09  On the matter of Obama’s Constitutional eligibility. What we have said here, consistently all along, is that, absent a real birth certificate, the American public really doesn’t know for a fact the answer to the question as to Obama’s real status as an American, legally, by birth.  That birth certificate has yet to be produced.  Its absence proves nothing, either way; however its absence feeds inquiry into the matter.   Except for personal hubris on the part of Mr. Obama, if, in fact he is a legally natural born citizen, there is no rational explanation for withholding release of the actual birth certificate.  However, with this regime, rational explanations on many things are in short supply.

Meanwhile, the Mountain Observer has been following the discussion closely, and due to the relevant circumstances to date, can only summarize the matter as it appears to us at this time.

1).  While it is still premature to rule the possibility out, a birth in Kenya appears unlikely.

2).  While it remains to be legally established, a birth in Hawaii appears to be more likely.  Aside from the absence of a genuine birth certificate, however, there appear to be questions surrounding the citizenship status of both his mother and his father at the time.  In addition, questions remain unanswered concerning Obama’s citizenship status as it might have been affected by his time in Indonesia, a complicated check list on its own.

Now it is not a matter of cheap partisan politics that all this does matter.   It is a matter of defending the American Constitution, much abused by the Left particularly in recent decades.  Other behavior by this thugocracy and its supporters since taking control of the levers of government should draw the significance of the birth certificate discussion into better perspective.  We will continue to follow this matter closely.  JES

08/03/09  The Mountain Observer could never understand the national appeal of OJ Billyboy in 1992, let alone his re-election in 1996.   That was never my America, and from those days forward to the present, including the lost years of George W. Bush so busy trying to be nice to Liberals, as a Conservative I have been wandering in the darkness watching the country descend steadily into the snake pit of Leftwing Statism of the fascist variety.  It has been painful to watch.  Accordingly, the regime of Baraka Hussein Obama, self proclaimed president of the world and international ward healer, was the completely predictable result of the philosophical logic of the “New Deal”.  With the virtual collapse of American education, there are few today who can connect the dots.  

However, as this August congressional recess begins there are some signs that the electorate may be waking up.  Will ObamaCare pass?  Will Cap & Tax pass?  Maybe, just maybe, the Leftwing juggernaut can be chopped off at the knees.  Pray for America.   JES

07/26/09  The state of the Republican Party, aka the Gone On Pills.  As a registered Republican I am mad as hell and just about at the end of my rope.  You people bitch and complain about Obama this and Obama that, and as the United States truly heads for a crash landing, you offer nothing credible in the way of solutions, only empty bromides and rhetoric.  I’ve heard it all before.  The GOP owned Congress, and a Republican President, between 2001 and 2006, and did nothing except to act like a bunch of damned Democrats.  For example, during that period what did you do about health care?  There were some genuine solutions proposed by Conservatives but nothing happened.  Portability of policies de-linked from employers.  Competition for insurance across state lines.  Tort reform.  Tax treatment neutrality between employer plans and individuals, etc, etc.  And what did we get but a massive extension of Medicare.  And the health care issues are only for starters.

The complaints concerning Obama’s plans are obvious, but what credibility does the GOP have as the engine of true reform?   The answer is none, and the old bromide that the GOP is a better alternative than Democrats running about loose has about run its course with many folks.  On top of all this, in the larger context, the country is broke thanks to the fascist economic policies falling into place under Obama and the Democrats, but jump-started under Bush and the GOP.

Now we have an article in the July 27, 2009 issue of the Weekly Standard by Peter Berkowitz holding up “moderation” and Colon Powell who voted for Baraka Hussein Obama as the roadmap for the GOP.  Bastardizing history from Edmund Burke forward, it appears to the Mountain Observer that Berkowitz truly has been pill-popping.  No, Berkowitz; Cheney and Mark Levin really do have it right and “Republicans” like you are pathetic little twits.

Sarah Palin, you know what you have to do.  Do it.  JES

07/22/09  ObamaCare and Cap & Tax, the two big legislative items Obama wants to Rahm through Congress before the August recess.  Why so?  Simple.  Too many Democrats are already wavering as folks back home are slowly catching on to the massive scope of this Soviet style attempt to take over our lives, which is what both of these items are really all about.   Obama’s problem here is that if his Democrat colleagues do get home in August before passage of these items, they may well get beat to death by disapproving voters and truly traumatized with regard to further support, at least this year and hopefully forever.  Conservatives need to beat Obama to a pulp on both these issues; the survival of the nation is at stake, and it is possible for us to succeed.  JES

07/18/09  Obama, and the issue of constitutional eligibility.  Attached to all the various theories surrounding this discussion is the question as to why, if he was born in Hawaii, doesn’t he just order release of the proper documentation and end the controversy.

1).  Should he do so, together with various travel documents and school records, he might open a Pandora’s box legally polluting his natural born citizenship status, most likely in connection with his time in Indonesia.  There are issues in this regard to be examined.

2).  Should he do so, together with various travel documents and school records, he might open a Pandora’s box politically by opening up a more broadly public examination of his Islamic links, associations and personal disposition on the matter of radical Islam.

3).  However, the Mountain Observer would suggest something entirely different.  It is not possible to understand anything Baraka Hussein Obama says or does without understanding the deep, very deep, narcisstic racial hatred of whites, and Christianity, that consumes his life.  So it is that, if his legal world was in perfect order on the matter of his constitutional eligibility, from his perspective, for others to raise the question is seen only as an act of racism against himself, to be dismissed as a personal assault against himself, possibly with legal implications.  His own manufactured racial pride could be all that stands against a fast and easy resolution of the matter, which is to say, his own narcisstic self trumps the interests of national political comity.

Now, as things currently stand, I don’t think most Americans really understand who and what they have put into the oval office.  The eligibility questions can only be fully understood in the larger context of an ongoing cultural, political and economic coup attempt against American civilization.  We are faced with the greatest test in our history in what could prove to be the perfect storm against worldwide civilization itself.  JES

07/10/09   The New York Times is considering charging for access to its online version.  I think that is just a tremendous idea and encourage them to move forward on the idea.  I can’t think of a better way for them to end it all into total collapse.  Imagine, the final end of an American Fascist icon.   The Mountain Observer, in a rare moment, finally agrees with an idea from the New York Times.  JES

07/10/09   Senator  Jim Inhofe R- OK, Ranking Minority Member on the Committee on Environment and Public Works, claims The cap-and-trade bill, passed by the House, cannot pass in the Senate.  He contends that, as of the moment, the bill has only 34 supporters in the Senate.   Literally for the survival of the nation, pray that he is right.  JES

07/05/09   Sarah Palin elects to retire her governorship of the State of Alaska.  What does this mean?  Unlike others, quick to give advice and comment in a vacuum, the Mountain Observer is holding back on immediate analysis, and suspects there may be much more going on here than is currently evident.  From day one after her choice by John McCain as a Vice Presidential nominee, she has been under a vicious assault by the Left, led by the PC wizards of the Fourth Estate and others with a vested interest in the survival of the Coastal Liberal dictatorship of the culture.  Even after the election and inauguration, these attacks have continued to be vicious, strident and personal; and filled with hate.  Could this reflect a genuine fear of Sarah Palin?  Perhaps this fear is not just directed at Sarah Palin, but also the America she represents, which in the Heartland is still considerable.  As Barry Soetoro begins to sink under the weight of his own incompetency and anti-Americanism, excuses and enemies must be found and identified, however absurd the logic.  Of all the possible Presidential candidates so far speculated upon for the GOP nomination in 2012, it is Sarah who has drawn the truly huge crowds.  So when the put-downs happen, including statements by other possible GOP nominees, consider the motives behind the statements.

This does not fully explain her decision to step aside from her Governorship.  Rather than further speculate, as I could at this time, I would prefer now to let the matter marinate further.  Suffice it to say now that amazing things could happen, among which Sarah Palin may, or may not, be a part.  We live in transformational times.  JES

07/05/09   The Tea Parties continue around the country, and the GOP, generally a truly pathetic bunch of faux Democrats, can take no ownership.  The crowds were drawn largely from a demographic mostly too busy making a living to find the time to engage in demonstrations.  After years, even decades, of political deterioration, we are watching evidence of a citizenship finally waking up to the threats of hard statist socialism.  A rediscovery of the tenth amendment, perhaps, and a renewed appreciation of the first and second, now under direct assault by none other than the PC wizards of the Fourth Estate and America’s accumulated mobs of “victims” of all sorts.  The academic garbage of the 60’s came home to roost in 1993 and has increasingly polluted the body politic ever since.  At a late date, arguably too late, what is left of the real America is beginning to fight back.  And where is the birth certificate?  JES

07/01/09  Regarding the Cap and Trade bill, as recently passed by the House, Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) perhaps said it best in the vernacular understood here in Jefferson, CO.  "Hey, people deserve to know what's in this pile of shit."  It’s doubtful many people read the 1200 page bill before the vote.  It passed, 219 to 212, with the help of 8 Republicans.  JES

07/01/09  The Honduran army, with the backing and support of the Honduran Congress, Supreme Court and the attorney general, ousts leftist President Manuel Zelaya following his attempt to hijack the country's constitution in Zelaya’s bid to continue as President beyond the allowed term limits.  This brave attempt to defend democracy and the Constitution of this struggling Central American country has been met with hostility by Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Baraka Hussein Obama, and Hillary Rodham Rodham, all brothers (and sisters) in Statism of the worse kind.  If those who we used to call friends can no longer trust us, look for a sea change shift towards the growth of national self defense capabilities by many former allies, up to, and including, nuclear weapons.  The message coming out of Washington now is that, in defense of freedom, everyone’s on their own, and a lot of treaties and alliances are about to become unstuck.  Peace be with you.  JES

07/01/09  Democrat Al Franken, a satanic turned to politics, is declared the winner of the hotly contested Senate seat from Minnesota by the State Supreme Court.  This gives the Democrats in the US Senate their coveted super majority, actually unnecessary from their side of the isle with all the wimp Republicans running about loose.  Good job Al; I look to you to speed up the crash landing ahead.  JES

07/01/09  It's all over folks for these "United" States of America.  With the US Senate on the edge of voting to endorse the House's passage of the Cap and Trade bill, these "United" States will have dug themselves a hole too deep to crawl out of.  Surrounded on all sides, economically, socially and culturally, Conservatives find themselves isolated and alone, left only to defend tiny islands of what remains of sanity.  And the Cap and Trade issues, for they are multiple, are only the beginning.  National economic, cultural and moral bankruptcy are at hand, and the only possible salvation from this mess is to just stand back, let it happen, and watch God pick up the pieces, if He will.  JES
